"Watched on: 9/24 This movie was pretty good. Anthony Hopkins' performance was good. I didn't like the ending though. Everything happened too fast and it was too much like Shawshank, it even had the whole "Standing in the rain" thing. But, overall an alright movie. "

“Many people did not like this movie, but in my case, I think that the message of the film about the meaning of life and the vane way we live today is very strong, also gives a good view about freedom not only for the human species but also the freedom of the rest of the animals (in this case, the gorillas but the message goes further). It develops the idea that human dominion over the earth is a myth that has led to the destruction (or maybe just our ignorance) of our most basic insticts giving birth to nonsense rivalries with one onother and with nature. Plus Anthony Hopkins gives yet another great performance. Cuba was ok.” read more

“I would watch anything starring Anthony Hopkins and he is the main reason why I wanted to check this flick. On the other hand, I wasn't really excited by Cuba Gooding Jr . Indeed, he started out as a promising young actor, became an Academy award winner but then spent a good chunk of the last 10 years ruining his career. Eventually, it turned out to be a rather disappointing flick which maybe was not as bad as the usual movies starring Cuba Gooding Jr. but unfortunately, it was also far from being as good as the usual movies starring Anthony Hopkins. I mean, Hopkins gave a solid performance but Gooding was not really convincing as a pyschiatrist and, above all, I thought it was just a preposterous thriller going for the cheap thrills.
