For those of you you aren't sure, Asperger's is a milder form of autism which impairs social functioning and relationship skills. Not that the autistic girl in this movie, Anna, ever has to try to socialize like the rest of us do.
She just sits about watching her food talk, like a art student's fever dream of what schizophrenia might be like (and I'm very liberal about Schizophrenic art movies.)
Anyway, Anna has a twin sister, Sarah, who is blind. They're identical in that creepy movie way, like the girls in "The Shining." They also hallucinate together in a sisterly fashion.
They envision some admittedly cool claymation effects and random gobbledygook, until tragedy strikes. The performances are akin to what is called 'non-acting,' where people picked up from Wal-Mart (not literal) stare at the camera and blink. Need I say more?... (more)(less)
"Dr. Reineger is a child neuro-psychologist who has become confident that the twin Anna has a rare form of autism called Asperger's Syndrome, rendering her unable to cope with reality.
