Stumbled across this delightful little film recently and decided to give it a go (mainly because of Toni Collette to be honest) and it was worth it.

“Stumbled across this delightful little film recently and decided to give it a go (mainly because of Toni Collette to be honest) and it was worth it.

Plotwise, the story is set on a remote island, where there is nothing but the once-probably-splendide hotel, now run-down and frequented by guests who get treatments for all sorts of things and are put on a strict saafood diet, invented by the now dead head of the family.

The three children are now running the place. Kath, formerly sous-chef, comes back to the island on grounds of a note she received and mixes the place up and things start to change.

I liked the atmosphere in the film, the whole dirty and grotesque setting and some almost camp characters. Even though the characters are rather one-dimensional, it's” read more
