Reviews

An average movie

As I really loved the concept and Mel Broos previous movie 'The Producers, my expectations were pretty high on this one. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed. Sure, there are a few good jokes but the whole thing is too messy and rather lame. Too bad because it had some potential. Still worth a look though, especially if you are a Mel Brooks fan.

My Brilliant and Witty 2013 Movie Diary (203 movies items)

" Where else but in a Mel Brooks movie will you see the Spanish Inquisition performed as a musical dance number? It's a funny and entertaining history lesson from the master of strange schmuck humour. Mel takes us from the birth of humanity and the creation of art (and the inevitable afterbirth- the critic), to the exquisite columns of Ancient Rome to revolution-era France, and it's a crazy romp of pure fun and randomness. Plus it's narrated by Orson Welles, booyah! Though I'm not as fond"

"March 21 "And of course, with the birth of the artist came the inevitable afterbirth... the critic." It's not Mel Brook's best work, but it was still funny. The best segment out of all would be the Roman Age one. I do think it's a bit weird that they called this part I when they never intended to make a sequel."
