Overrated, but brutal and hard-hitting

"You know, I'd almost forgotten what your eyes looked like. Still the same. Pissholes in the snow." Get Carter is a classic 1970s British crime film that is good, but far from great. Having seen the remake of the film first I had high expectations for this one. Unfortunately my expectations weren't entirely met, and I was mildly disappointed. Michael Caine plays the principal role of Jack Carter; a malicious London gangster. Carter travels to Newcastle for the funeral of his recently deceased brother. Upon arrival in Newcastle he begins asking questions about the death of his brother and suspects that it was no accident, but foul play was involved.
