"26.7.2013 Funeral Parade of Roses is a very essential piece in the Japanese New Wave and not in the least because it is just so tightly set in it's period. Toshio Matsumoto tells a tale about a group of transvestites, with both fictional and documentary-style, while never taking a preachy kind of leftist-look on the subject, but more of an experimental and taboo-breaking kind, by making references to other cinema, using fast-forwardness in places where there is no need, by having the character"
