A good movie

When it came out, more than 15 years ago, I saw this flick at the movie theater and, yesterday, I finally saw it again. Back then, the expectations were pretty high but it was not very well received. Indeed, this movie has a rather poor reputation but I think it is actually pretty good. First of all, I just love how baroque and decadent the whole thing looked like. Furthermore, in my opinion, the ... read more

Despite being unfaithful to the letter of the source novel, the 1931 film version of Frankenstein attributed the spirit correctly. In fact, it even took plot elements and the overall spirit of the novel and crafted a sequel which topped the predecessor. (That would be The Bride of Frankenstein, a misnomer, sure, but still one of the most essential films of all-time.) In the 90s, Universal was eage... read more

Elokuvapäiväkirja 2017 (298 movies items)

A Complete Review of Kenneth Branagh's work (15 movies items)

" Cast : Kenneth Branagh, Robert De Niro, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Hulce, Aidan Quinn, Ian Holm, John Cleese What was it about? When the brilliant but unorthodox scientist Victor Frankenstein rejects the artificial man that he has created, the Creature escapes and later swears revenge. My two cents: When it came out, more than 20 years ago, I actually saw this flick at the movie theater. Back then, the expectations were pretty high but it was not very well received.
