First of all, I just love how baroque and decadent it looks. I thought the cast provided some good perfomances and I especially enjoyed John Cleese who was barely recognizable and wasn't funny whatsoeve... read more

Despite being unfaithful to the letter of the source novel, the 1931 film version of Frankenstein attributed the spirit correctly. (That would be The Bride of Frankenstein, a misnomer, sure, but still one of the most essential films of all-time.) In the 90s, Universal was eage... read more

"Ei järin ihmeellinen elokuva. On tämä kuitenkin varsin uskollinen Mary Shelleyn alkuperäisteokselle. Ja Robert De Niro tekee hyvää työtä hirviönä. Mutta joiltakin osin homma jää vähän latteaksi."

"The Creature "And as I killed him, I saw your face. You gave me these emotions. But you didn't tell me how to use them. (...) There's something at work in my soul which I do not understand. What of my soul? Do I have one? Or was that a part you left out? Who were these people of which I am comprised? Good people? Bad people? (...) Do you know I knew how to play this? In which part of me did this knowledge reside? In these hands? In this mind? In this heart? And reading and speaking... Not thi"

" Directed by: Kenneth Branagh ('Thor', 'Sleuth'(2007), 'Hamlet', 'Much Ado About Nothing', 'Peter's Friends', 'Dead Again', 'Henry V') With: Robert De Niro, Kenneth Branagh, Tom Hulce, Helena Bonham Carter, Aidan Quinn, Ian Holm, John Cleese Was the original - Frankenstein (1931) - worth a look? 80 years later it is still considered a masterpiece and I definitely have to watch it some day. Was this remake worth a look? There was a huge buzz before this movie was released but it didn't t"
