A Time To Dance

My Favorite Quote!

Ren: You like Men At Work?
Willard: what men?
Ren: Men at work.
Willard: well where do they work?
Ren: No, they're a music group.
Willard: well what do they call themselves?
Ren: Oh no! What about the Police?
Willard: What about 'em?
Ren: You ever heard them?
Willard: No, but I seen them.
Ren: Where, in concert?
Willard: No, behind you.

Footloose is such a terrific movie. From the shoe-stomping opening credits to its down and dirty small town ways, I love it so much.

Ren McCormack and his mom just moved to Bomont and he's having trouble fitting in. When he hears about the no dancing/no loud music laws, Ren (Kevin Bacon) knows he can make a difference. With the help of Ariel (Lori Singer), his dream of a senior prom becomes a reality.

I'd reccommend this film to anyone who enjoys a passionate yet fun-filled story, along with a great soundtrack!

Footloose review

No budget was overspent on the opening credits of this film. This is a poignant period piece set in the deepest whitest midwest of America. The daughter of a preacher man has a thing about putting herself in front of moving vehicles and the son of the preacher man was killed playing chicken in a motor vehicle a few years earlier. As a consequence dancing is banned in their town. Following? Enter outsider gymnast Ren, the young Kevin Bacon, who has a passion for music and dance. The rest is history, but not a very interesting one. Lots of big hair, big shoulders and a small amount of youthful Sarah Jessica Parker as a brunette.
