"Mr. Sylvester Stallone didn't get where he is today by playing in Jane Austen."
Fierce Creatures is a charming, rather funny non-sequel to A Fish Called Wanda that reunites most of the original cast, but falls far short of matching up to its non-predecessor. In all fairness, A Fish Called Wanda was way too remarkably excellent and unbeatable that I never expected Fierce Creatures t... read more
Back then, in the 80's, the same cast (John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline, Michael Palin) worked together and made one of the most ridiculous and hilarious comedy ever, 'A fish called Wanda'. It was a deserved success and, 10 years later, they were back together and you would hope that it would be again a smash it. Unfortunately, even though it wasn't bad at all, this second flick was unf... read more
Fierce Creatures is a really funny film featuring the same cast as A Fish Called Wanda. This film isn't a sequel of that because of the completely different story and characters within it. It was a funny film but wasn’t as clever as A Fish Called Wanda. It still has that typical clumsy slapstick comedy involved in the film. It was the original comedy style that made me laugh so much. But the thi... read more

To bring more business to the zoo, Octopus hires a new manager, Rollo Lee, who promptly comes up with a way to increase profits-do away with all the animals except for the ferocious ones. This new Fierce Creatures Policy shocks the Marwood zookeepers, led by the unendingly talkative Adrian "Bugsy" Malone. Eventually, Rod McCain's son Vince, along with the up-and-coming business executive Willa Weston, take control of the zoo and revoke the Fierce Creatures Policy. Vince instead comes up with many under-handed and vicious schemes to attract customers-unauthorized celebrity endorsements, shoddy, overpriced zoo merchandise, and using robotic animals instead of real ones. However, Vince is also stealing from the zoo's funds, and when his father finds out, he rears to turn the zoo into a Japanese-owned golf course. Meanwhile, Willa has grown to love the zoo and its animals, and, along with her newly-reformed love interest Rollo, plot with the zookeepers to save the zoo from the McCains.... (more)(less)

It was a deserved success and, 10 years later, they were back together and you would hope that it would be again a smash it. Unfortunately, even though it wasn't bad at all, this second flick was unfortunately nothing really mind-blowing. I mean, there were a few laughs here and there, it was expected with those guys but, unfortunately, it never reached its potential. I think the issue is that the story was not really interesting enough and it was the same thing concerning the characters. I mean, you can add as many jokes as you want but if the viewers don't care about the story and/or the ch” read more

Had to catch this one before it left instant. Take the principal cast members from A Fish Called Wanda, give them similar characters and a completely different plot, and you have Fierce Creatures. It's nowhere near as good or funny as Wanda, but if you liked seeing Cleese, Palin, Curtis & Kline on the screen before you'll find this an entertaining film too. Some of the humor falls flat (mostly for both of Kline's characters), but the bits that do work work very well. I especially "

"Rollo Lee: It's an anteater, not a maneater.
Sydney Lotterby: What would you be saying if it went over there, jumped into that pram? What would you be saying to the child's mother now?
Rollo Lee: I'd be saying, "Madam, you are the victim of an 8 billion to one chance: a leaping anteater. An evolutionary mutant previously unknown to science." "
