Watching this film made me praise the lord that I wasn't born a whole generation earlier. It looks like this time period was an unspeakable scourge of crap outfits, unfunny jokes and anti-fun.

Just look how mediocre/detested the cast turned out to be! I didn't so much as raise a smirk during this veritable angerfest. Some dude has a day off of school and managed to get half of the n... read more

Possibly the greatest, cleverest and witty film to come out of the 1980s. Every taste is catered. Watch it

"Ferris Bueller played by Matthew Broderick because he was just so flippin' cool! Cameron: "Okay Ferris, can we just let it go, please?" Sloane: "Ferris, please. You've gone to far. We're going to get busted." Ferris: "A: You can never go too far. B: If I'm gonna get busted, it is *not* gonna be by a guy like *that*." "

Films and the critics who hate them (732 movies items)

"Ferris Bueller exhibits John Hughes on an off day. Paucity of invention here lays bare the total absence of plot or involving situations. - Variety Staff, Variety In this film has created a character who is every teen-ager's fantasy, but in the process he has lost some of the authenticity of his other films. - Nina Darnton, New York Times The overriding impression is one of utter nihilism, of a world divided into bored, crassly materialistic teenagers and doltish, unfeeling adults. - Dave "
