John Waters doesn't even have the slightest shred of decency and morality at all. He is willing to gross his audience out to the max, to make em grab a barf bag and upchuck their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's all completely and utterly shameless and desensitized in his movies. And THAT is exactly why I love him!
Oh, and also because he always included Divine in like everything he directed too. The large, shapeless mass of fat and glamour that was Divine, was a caustic, coarse male"

"We can always count on John Waters to make such a trashy, filthy, absurd comedy as Female Trouble so exemplifies. Peppered with some surprisingly sharp bits of dialogue, this film is not as overtly shocking as the more famous Pink Flamingos, but it is, in some respects, just as low in sentiments. Worth watching at least once, but definitely not for everyone’s enjoyment.

"The world’s been turned upside down in John Waters’ raucous, razor-sharp satire. Being gay is normal, and being straight is considered “sick”. Of course, then there’s Divine playing both a woman and a man who inevitably get together and do the nasty. Utter madness."
