"DIR: Otto Messmer SUMMARY: Felix the Cat travels to Hollywood to try and make his fortune in the movies. WHY IT'S HERE: The majority of Otto Messmer and Pat Sullivan's early Felix the Cat films now seem like relics of their time. Although Felix was the first mass-merchandised cartoon star, I've never found him all that appealing in terms of visuals or character.
