This movie, in my opinion, is totally forgettable. Sure, it's action, but it's just not good writing, totally predictable, from start to finish. Dwayne Johnson, if I didn't know he was capable of better, gives a pretty sub-par performance, Billy Bob Thornton isn't great, nor is Carla Gugino. "April 5 "I created my own hell." "And I am the demon who crawled up out of it." I swear that the more movies I see with Dwayne Johnson, the more I like him. Judging by the cover I thought it was going to be a standard action movie, but it was nothing like that. Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thorton were so good in this movie that I didn't know who to root for and I thought the whole thing was an intense thriller and it had me on the edge of my seat. If only he starred in more stuff like this "

Great review. I recall when I saw this how tedious it was for me to get through it. Usually the main character in a film is either likable or compelling and I found Johnson's character to be neither.

At first, it might sound like yet another sequel or spin-off to ‘The Fast and the Furious’ franchise, especially since Dwayne Johnson was playing the main character but, eventually, it didn’t have anything to do with the rejuvenated franchise. Surprisingly, Georges Tillman Jr., the director, made this movie as an homage to the action films from the 70’ s but, personally, I thought it was more a throwback to those 80’s revenge action flicks starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone or one of those guys.
