Uhhh... ok. That's weird.

Eraserhead is now the single most bizarre film that I have ever seen. Eraserhead has dethroned The Fountain from that spot. It is a film that is filled with a very complex story that is very hard to follow. It is one of those films that some people probably wouldn't like very much because of that. There are people who do appreciate this film because of the art of the film and the way it is filmed ... read more

I'm writing a movie review today because I saw "Eraser head" a few months ago and it's been festering inside my head for so long that I just have to make my feelings about how terrible it is (and how stupid most of the people that love it are) more public.

Somehow this movie is a "Cult classic" because it's "interpretative to your own thoughts" well guess what? My thoughts are that i... read more

I don't know where to begin. Perhaps nauseating isn't quite the word, but I felt increasingly sick throughout the film. In a good way I guess, as the film itslef is utterly brilliant, even if I couldn't really understand what the hell was going on. Can anyone? Other than the sexual and maternal subtexts, I was lost. But it didn't matter really. It's compelling, but sickening, the chicken carving s... read more

CRITERION FILMS (775 movies items)

"David Lynch’s 1977 debut feature, Eraserhead, is both a lasting cult sensation and a work of extraordinary craft and beauty. With its mesmerizing black-and-white photography by Frederick Elmes and Herbert Cardwell, evocative sound design, and unforgettably enigmatic performance by Jack Nance, this visionary nocturnal odyssey continues to haunt American cinema like no other film."

“First and foremost, I think that David Lynch is a fucking genius and I love all of his work tremendously. Eraserhead is such a classic.

I can’t even begin to describe the tension in this movie and the special effects. According to Wikipedia, this is a surrealist/science fiction/horror/fantasy film and it truly is a masterpiece because of these genres brought together. Lynch describes this movie as his most spiritual movie and I would sell my first born to find out what exactly he had in his beautiful mind when he stated that.

Eraserhead is gory but not to the extent of other movies in my opinion. It has that specific lynchian feel where you just sit and cringe while watching, even though there’s not a lot of blood shed going on, the characters are in themselves gory” read more

“Well we seem to have a split jury on this one. Personally this film was one of the most boring experiences I've ever had watching a movie. From the beginning I was waiting for it to end, I did not come in with any preconceived notions either, this was my first David Lynch movie and it was a disappointment. The Lead actor Henry Spencer was bland but the Lady in the Radiator was quite disturbing. The sound editing of industrial noise really set the mood for one of the most bizarre films ever created. However, that is no excuse for the lack of anything in the film, its obvious this was Lynch's baby, and he didn't give a foot of what anyone one else might find interesting or intriguing...that alien baby was beyond weird.Words to describe this film: Threadbare, tiresome, monotonous, repugnant and o” read more
