A good movie

It has been a while since I wanted to check this flick. I mean, it took Gaspar Noé 7 seven years to come up with a follow-up and it took me 4 more years to finally see it, so you can do the math. Noé must be one of the most challenging directors at work nowadays and this movie was not an exception. First of all, you can say whatever you want about the guy but, from a visual point of view, this f... read more

"Stunning", "Amazing", "Awesome", wait... what have you been smoking?
Or should I say are you out of your mind people? This movie was utter
nonsense with so many aspects that make a good movie.

I know some of Gaspar Noé's work. I think I know the way he thinks, and
he is kind of a basket case in my opinion. But so am I, and I like mind
messing type of mo... read more

The movie really lasts like an hour and a half (by that moment you'll now how the movie ends), but the director desperately tries to make it longer with the repetitive effects of the lights and the bird's-eye shots that don't bring anything new to the story (only boredom).

Description: The long-awaited follow up to his controversial IRREVERSIBLE, ENTER THE VOID is an immersive and mind-bending experience. Nathaniel Brown and Paz de la Huerta star in a visceral journey set against the thumping, neon club scene of Tokyo, which hurls the viewer into an astonishing trip through life, death, and the universally wonderful ... A good movie

“It has been a while since I wanted to check this flick. I mean, it took Gaspar Noé 7 seven years to come up with a follow-up and it took me 4 more years to finally see it, so you can do the math. Noé must be one of the most challenging directors at work nowadays and this movie was not an exception. First of all, you can say whatever you want about the guy but, from a visual point of view, this flick was quite impressive. I mean, right from the amazing title sequence, I was sold. It seems that he simply refuses to make conventional shots and during the whole thing you wonder how he managed to do this or that. Of course, it is a little bit nauseating (something reminiscent of his previous movie ‘Irréversible’) and all those shots above buildings and walls might seem gimmicky but I lik” read more

Amazing cinematography and a good story

Just prepare for a long one and all your senses apart from smell will be offended at one some point.” read more

Bad, but Honest reviews of my Instant Queue (111 movies items)

" 2 HOURS AND 35 MINUTES!!!?!?!?! This just ruins the movie in my opinion, if it was 2 hours that would've been too long, an hour and 15 minutes and it would've blown my mind, but 155minutes? no thanks, the last half hour I was just praying for it to end... The way it was filmed is amazing but a lot of repetition and filler scenes were left in the movie and I don't really know why..."

Top 10 Funny Sex Scenes (10 movies items)

" In the middle of a romantic comedy starring, say, Sandra Bullock, you might not necessarily laugh out loud at a sex scene showed from the inside of a woman’s vagina, where brother-sister incest (not to mention necrophilia) is heavily implied, and a ginormous, ejaculating, CGI penis thrusts toward you. In, fact, you might find it a little disturbing. But deep in the midst of a Gaspar Noe film? Trust us, it’s funny. This is the same man who wrote and directed IRREVERSIBLE (2002), after all "

"28th of July, Digibox Ei iskenyt toivotulla tavalla. Elokuva alkaa lupaavasti keskittyessään Oscarin huumehallusinaatioihin, mutta muuttuukin pian sielunvaellukseksi, kun Oscar ammutaan ja hänen sielunsa jää seuraamaan muiden ihmisten elämää. Enter the Void toimii suurimmalti osin ihan hyvin ja tarjoaa rohkean tulkinnan kuolemanjälkeisestä elämästä. Jotkin kohtaukset ovat todella surrealistisia ja kulkevat käsi kädessä Tokion neonvalojen kanssa. Pakko antaa maininta myös erikoi"

"Katsottu: 13.6.2012 Varmasti paras tappaa sielu heti aamusta. Olen pitkään odotuttanut oikeaa hetkeä tälle voidille. Nyt loman alkupuolella olisi tarkoitus katsoa kaikkia vähän pidempiä elokuvia. Siksipä Enter the Voidin katsominen tuli ajankohtaiseksi, sillä katsoin tästä sen pidemmän ohjaajan version. Täytynee kyllä sanoa, että siinä oli skidisti liikaa materiaalia, jota olisi etenkin lopusta voinut karsia. Alku on saatu mielenkiintoiseksi ja Oscarin silmistä kuvattu Tokio n"

April Movie Journal - Xanadon't (34 movies items)

" Since I more or less thought highly of Gaspar Noe's previous film, Irreversible, I had hopes that I'd find Enter the Void to be equally as interesting and darkly spellbinding. Such is not the case. Sure, there are a few technical aspects that are indeed impressive (mostly visual techniques, color-correction, crane-shots, and the like, as well as some of the sound) but once said admiration wore off I was left with a film that felt frustrating, sharply tedious at times, and plain old over-lon"

Movies the giraffe watched: March 2012 (15 movies items)

"First viewing - March 27th/28th Rather a mixed bag here. On the one hand I was very impressed by the technical aspects of the film, even if they did try my patience over time. The opening credits should probably come with a warning for those prone to epileptic seizures, and if you're one of those who can't handle first-person video games due to a tendency toward motion sickness this film may not be for you either. Fortunately I fall into neither category, so I was mostly OK with the way the fil"
