Quite surprised at the excellent outcome of this film: cinematography, directing and acting performances. Particularly the twist, which we weren't expecting. Still not perfect :) but definitely an enjoyable movie amid the recent lesser-known productions.

The Good & The Bad - Movies Watched In 2017 (447 movies items)

"A Gothic horror tale based on an Edgar Allen Poe tale, filled with the grotesque excesses of Victorian medicine and mental health treatments. Throw in two big stars as two opposing forces in this literal madhouse, and you might think you have a humdinger here. But no - the first hour drags a bit but thankfully things pick up afterwards and it becomes fairly interesting. The cast has some heavyweights which includes Kate Beckinsale, Jim Sturgess, David Thewlis, Brendan Gleeson, Ben Kingsly and Mi"

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- November 2016 (22 movies items)

" Netflix- 1hr. 52min. First Viewing Stoneheart Asylum is a fairly fun mystery/thriller; the cast is good, the direction solid and the story pulpy enough. While often fun, however, the plot gets stretched thin rather quickly, and things begin to get repetitive and obvious (director Brad Anderson is much better with mood and tone than he is storytelling here). It's a worthwhile viewing, but it could've certainly used a fine-tuning to the script. "

My Cinema : Viewing & Rating (Mar 2016) (10 movies items)

" My Rating : 4.0 = Good My Point Of View : At first this film made me feel like if the story didn't had anysens and there was only one question who was coming on my mind... how can a bunch of mental patients can manage a gigantic asylum like this ? that's impossible but the screenplay is interesting and with the contribution of outstanding cast like Ben Kingsley, Kate Beckinsale, Micheal Caine, David Thewlis and Jim Sturgess the film becamed more and more interesting. overall it's a rollercoa"
