“Since I really enjoyed Tony Gilroy's directing début, 'Michael Clayton', I was really eager to see his following directing feature. Once again, there was an interesting cast (Clive Owen, Julia Roberts, Paul Giamatti, Tom Wilkison) and they all gave some decent performances, the directing was pretty good as well and the subject of the movie, industrial espionage, was really interesting. However, I was still not really impressed by the whole thing. Indeed, they try to make it all sound and look complicated and clever but it was actually a simple story told in a convoluted way.
