A very good movie

9 months, 3 weeks ago at Feb 3 11:20
I have always been amazed that, according to Imdb, ‘Good Will Hunting’ is still Gus Van Sant’s best movie. I saw it again recently and, honestly, I think it is a decent drama and an entertaining feature but I don’t see what was so amazing about it. In my opinion, his best movie was actually this flick, his sophomore directing effort. To be honest, it has been a while since I saw it and it... read more

"Matt Dillon delivers one of the best performances of his career in Drugstore Cowboy, a gritty movie about the real life of junkies. There is heavy drug content in this movie, but in no way is the drug life glorified. Much of the movie is shot in a documentary style, giving it a gritty, realistic feel, almost like a twisted home movie. Dillon plays the part of Bob, a young junkie in the early 1970s who goes around with his group of friends breaking into pharmacies and drug stores and stealing ra"

A very good movie

“I have always been amazed that, according to Imdb, ‘Good Will Hunting’ is still Gus Van Sant’s best movie. In my opinion, his best movie was actually this flick, his sophomore directing effort. To be honest, it has been a while since I saw it and it probably needs a re-watch but, back then, I thought it was quite amazing and one of the best movies dealing with drug addiction. At the time, Matt Dillon was one of the leading actors of his generation and he was really good in this (apparently, Dillon cites this film as his personal favorite of all the films he's done and I have to agree with him). It is seriously a dark and rather ominous affai” read more

My Brilliant and Witty 2013 Movie Diary (203 movies items)

" Matt Dillon is such a charming druggy that I'd probably jab a needle into my arm instantly just to be graced by his stunning presence even momentarily. Look at these people, they're WAY too attractive to be drug addicts: I don't care though, I loved this movie. As far as the synopsis goes, Drugstore Cowboy is about a group of self described dope fiends who rob, none other than, drugstores and hospitals for any and every type of narcotic substance. They'll literally put any kind of sedat"

"December 14 I thought this was a great movie. It had Matt Dillon's best performance and a really great script. I also thought the movie was very realistic."
