This is one of the cooler version of Dracula that I've seen. The story of Vlad and that blood-red armor makes a great visual for the makings of his slip into darkness. Gary Oldman is great in that part, being able to play the proper piece as well as the raving lunatic, and everywhere in-between.

I can remember it as if it was yesterday. Before it came out, there was a huge buzz before this movie was released and it didn't turn out to be the masterpiece that so many of us hoped for. “I have read the book and loved it, but I saw the movie first since it came out when I was young. The movie is brilliant, the story telling is truely well done. Gary Oldman as Dracula stole the show, and Anthony Hopkins as Van Helsing also was a good performance. The story is a beautiful gothic tale of the first vampire, Dracula who renounces god after losing his beloved Elisabeta. Dracula meets Jonathan Harker, who is engaged to Mina who reminds Dracula of his beloved this sets the story off. This is visualy stunning, the story gothic and beautifull.” read more
