Grace is the grace and the name of the porcelain beauty Nicole Kidman. Pursued by a gang of criminals seek the help of residents of a small village. Those in authority to deal with distrust.Grace but gradually begins to work for the village to show gratitude towards the people who embraced and accepted as a member of a small family. The Dogville is a terrible way to ruin the place, divided into nine chapters with a short prologue.
The brilliant Lars von Trier - who has given us great films so different - with the option to do at the end, turns his first film 'American Trilogy' and hopes that Kidman will accept the leading role in sequels. The truth remains that the story could unfold anywhere, because above all is a story about human nature. With strong character drama with the help of an amazing cast, in an absolutely minimalist setting the Trier outlines the psychology of people and different feelings towards something new or foreign change and succeed each other. Fear, caution, suspicion, greed, exploitation is the color palette available in this village. The houses have walls, residents can see and hear everything, but everyone looks at his job. The streets and the dog in the village are just painted signs on the floor. Life is nothing more than a round design with chalk. Everybody is a star in his show, his own plank stripped of anything superfluous. Anyone is free to make choices. But we must accept the consequences. The «Dogville» is a very interesting film experiment that no one should miss. As with most films of Trier others will love it, others may hate.

A great movie

I thought it was a very original movie and also a very fascinating one. I completely was captivated by the story. The acting, the directimg and even the set dressing (you know what I mean if you have seen it) are just great. It is my favorite directed by Lars von Trier and it is definitely worth a look.

Dogville review

I found this movie to be absolutely mesmerising. It was just a great concept and I think it's one of Nicole Kidmans best performances. Also a great ending which I was not expecting (always a good thing in a movie of course). I think they all deserved it.

As a bonus it was so fascinating watching everyone open and close doors lol
