"5/7/13 Rewatch And so I finally finish my stroll through the Sean Connery era of Bond that I began last month. Although I left off Never Say Never Again. I'm a Bond purist and all that movie was was a poor retread of Thunderball anyway, made by a malcontent, thorn-in-the-side of the Bond producers. Good pace, but underwhelming climax that feels like a combination of "Dr. No" and "You Only Live Twice". The Downs: Too much of a parody of itself. Stupid comedic visuals that hint on what were to come during Roger Moore's period. Charles Gray is too aristocratic for Blofeld. Jill St. John is miscast."
