''Many mistakes have been made. Be ruthless. Life doesn't forgive weakness. This so-called humanity is religious drivel. Compassion is an eternal sin. To feel compassion for the weak is a betrayal of nature. The strong can only triumph if the weak are exterminated.''

The latest film by Oliver Hirschbiegel (The Experiment) roused a storm of reactions, long before the promotion. The NAA yes, a film about Hitler the man, a German director, in a country that Nazism is still an open wound can only be a de facto challenge. Despite the difficulty of the task, however, the Hirschbiegel managed to make an amazing movie that nails the audience for 150 minutes. The visua... read more
I'm baffled. Listal users have given this only a 7.7 average?? Did you guys even see this movie, or are you just rating it average because its a film about Hitler? This movie deals with the horror of the Nazi regime and takes place during the final days in Berlin, as Hitler is still defiant and insane and still thinks victory is possible. This movie is better made, more shocking, and sends a m... read more

"For many years after World War II, German cinema avoided any kind of depiction of one the most infamous of dictators, Adolf Hitler.
The controversy that immediately followed after the 2004 film Downfall finally broke that taboo, shows that even 60 years after the "Big One", the scars of the second war to end all wars are still there & still incredibly sensitive.
Centering on the close circle of Hitler's command during the last days of the war, Downfall details the happenings within the Third"

"
Traudl Junge, the final secretary for Adolf Hitler, tells of the Nazi dictator's final days in his Berlin bunker at the end of WWII.
Adolf Hitler is definitely one of the most notorious and most cruel people in the history of mankind. But his story is so interesting. This movie gives a great image of his person. You also see a lot of the experiences of the German soldiers. It's a interesting but shocking movie. The performance of Bruno Ganz as Hitler is one of the best performances ever."

“A German movie on a crucial moment in German history: the downfall of Berlin and of the Third Reich in 1945. Hitler's final days are told according to the memories of his private secretary Traudl Junge.
