Hard to swallow

This is a very silly film in which almost everybody gets eaten. LL Cool is pretty entertaining, but everybody else is pretty forgettable even Samuel L Jackson. People expecting a high tech jaws (which is probably what they where aiming for) might be disappointed. I think they jumped the shark as it where.

Screw the critics - I love it!

Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything really brilliant but I thought the title was rather catchy and, I don't know why, I thought it could be entertaining. Unfortunately, the whole thing was rather disappointing. Basically, Renny Harlin keeps making B-movies and this one is no exception... There are a few cool scenes (especially one involving Samuel L. Jackson but I won't spoil it) but the whole ... read more

Description: A businessman sinks $200 million into a special project to help fight brain cancer. As part of this project, medical biologist Susan McAlester rather naughtily figures out a way to genetically enlarge shark brains, so that cancer-battling enzymes can be harvested. However, the shark subjects become super smart and decide they don't mu ... (more)

Let's Talk About Leftovers (50 movies items)

" In "Deep Blue Sea", scientists experiment on sharks as they try to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. As a result, the sharks become too smart, then go on a rampage. This is one of my favourite 1990s thrillers because it gives characters engaging personalities and tries hard to make its conceit plausible. Stakes and level of danger are established carefully in the first act before this becomes an effective disaster picture. It's paced well enough to not drag or feel rushed. Creatively timed a"

Killer Shark Films - Ranked (43 movies items)

"The film has one "holy shit!"-moment in it that's extremely awesome, but that's basically it. It's naturally beyond ridiculous and cheesy, but it never gets so bad it's good. It's just bad and stupid. It's a boring film. It might have been better if it wasn't for the fact that my Netflix was a bit troublesome this time, occasionally starting to lag. Causing me to pause the film for a few minutes every time. But still, it didn't give me much enjoyment when it was working properly. "

Why Aren't These Gems More Fondly Remembered? (15 movies items)

" My brother and I love this movie. We watched it when we were kids, and I found it pretty scary. Few years later, I was watching the VHS as much as possible. Couldn't get enough of it. Admittedly, this has become something of a cult item, but it seriously deserves more credit. It's a B-movie blockbuster with money and skill behind it, and I have fun every time I put the Blu-ray on."

"17.07.2012 "Now you see how that works? She screwed with the sharks, and now the sharks, they're screwing with us." I knew this was gonna be bad, but this was beyond awful. This was absolute cliche filled garbage from start to finish full of only unlikable characters, awful dialogue and some of the worst CG i have ever seen. The main female character is one of the worst characters i have ever seen in a film. She is literally the reason all of this is happening. She actually set the giant super"

Flawed as it definitely is, 1999's Deep Blue Sea is a rare type of big-budget summer extravaganza that fulfils its promise of delivering fast-paced, entertaining action with genuine panache. Nothing about Deep Blue Sea is original or groundbreaking in any way, but the production was overseen by blockbuster extraordinaire Renny Harlin, whose previous pictures include Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Cliffhanger (let's forget about Cutthroat Island). As a result, it's unfailingly enjoyable, and it doesn't feel its lengthy 100-minute running time. If Deep Blue Sea was released in 2013, it would have been produced by the ” read more

10 Ways to Avoid Being Killed by a Horror Monster (10 movies items)

"#9 Don't Stand Too Close to Any Opening, Window or Door Example: Russell Franklin (Samuel L. Jackson) in Deep Blue Sea Monster: Super Shark You should have a healthy amount of paranoia when approaching an entrance way where a monster could easily reach out and grab you. Bad things will always happen if you stand too close to an entrance, but if you MUST stand near one, at least don't turn your back to it. Your actions during an attack by a horror movie monster should be the same as if a torn"

"April 15 "That's the answer to the riddle. Because that's what an 8000 pound mako thinks about. About freedom. About the deep blue sea." The reason I have been watching quite a bit of Samuel L. Jackson films lately is because I'm going to making a best to worst list of all his movies. The problem is I haven't gotten to the worst yet. This was an entertaining shark movie. It's a no-brainer, but I still enjoyed it. "
