Dear Da...

Dear Frankie is a family story set in Glasgow, where Lizzie has been lying to her nine-year-old son for years, that his father is a sailor, and has had no chance yet to visit him. Suddenly father's (purported) ship is listed in the shipping new as coming into the harbour... So Lizzie has to find a dad, and quick. Sounds comedic, but is a really nice, serious drama about family, and what it means to be a mum or dad. It avoids almost every single cliché you could think of in connection with the topic. Still, it has the longest-ever build-up to a kiss in cinematic history! *lol* Well worth your time.

Great British Movie

This movie is full of emotions. I think that everyone who sees it – would feel them. The main character of the movie is Frankie – 9 and half years old boy who is deaf – but that isn’t really that much important as he does have a great personality . You should see him writing the A in Deaf when one of his classmates tries to bring him down. Frankie miss his fatter terribly and writes to him often – only it is not his dad who writes back , but his mom – I don’t want to include any spoilers – so I would just highly recommend this movie to you. At first I was heaving a bit of trouble picking up the English accent , but in a few minutes got used to it – the movie did not have subtitles, which was fine by me as I generally don’t like movies with subtitles anyway ( with except...Read more

looked ok, but...

this film looked interesting and decent and I wanted to watch it, but... it should be classified as a 'FOREIGN LANGUAGE' film! cripes, even though they spoke english, I could barely understand 1 out of 5 words!

And watching an english movie with subtitles is just so wrong. :)

therefore, I'm not rating it. Just warning people, you may need an interpreter for this one. Unless you come from UK. or grew up around people that always talked with their mouth full of food.
