''You killed him?''

''No, I shot him. Bullets and the fall killed him.''

A cab driver finds himself the hostage of an engaging contract killer as he makes his rounds from hit to hit during one night in LA. He must find a way to save both himself and one last victim.

Max: "I can't drive you around while you're killing folks. It ain't my job!"
Vincent: "Tonight it is."

Collateral was released in the summer of 2004, and therefore emerged amidst an onslaught of big-budget, special effects-laden blockbusters. Yet, Collateral does not adhere to the standard summer season template - rather than a brain-dead action fiesta for the teenage crowd, ... read more

Pure brilliance.

Tom Cruise's performance as the ice cold assassin is fantastic. An extremely atmospheric and stylish film, this easily deserves the same level of recognition as Heat.

This film sometimes receives criticism for its ending, but it certainly didn't impede my enjoyment. Coupled with great musical accompaniment and one of the greatest scenes I've ever see... read more

“one of my favorite movies, collateral has a sense of creativity to it and doesn't rely on action scenes so bombastic that they break you're brain after two minutes.

this is one of the most perfectly directed movies I've ever seen. there's no shaky cam and during the handheld shootout scene in the nightclub, you can see what's going on perfectly.

the dialogue is FLAWLESS. there's not a boring and/or unnecessary scene in this movie. this movie also marks the only time I felt bad for the bad guy when he dies and from the way the scene is shot and the use of the score, it seems like your supposed to feel that way.

it's an instant classic with no flaws to be found.” read more

"23.2. Netflix Uusintakatselu, ei muutoksia. Väkisin tulee verrattua Heatiin, mikä ei sinänsä ihme ole, sillä aikamoiselta toisinnolta välillä tuntuu. Tarinallisesti ei pahemmin yhteyksiä löydy, mutta tunnelmanluonnin osalta on aika samoilla jäljillä. Loppua myöden eritoten. Huippulaadukas elokuva ilmanmuuta, kun vain pystyisi näkemään itsenäisenä teoksena. Jälkimmäinen klubikohtaus on kyllä silkkaa magiaa."

A very good movie

“What the hell happened to Michael Mann?!? Indeed, during the last 10 years, he has directed only 3 movies, ‘Miami Vice’ which was really disappointing, ‘Public Enemies’ which I have probably seriously overrated and finally ‘Blackhat’, easily one of the worst movies released in 2015. It is really sad because, before that, Mann was probably one of the most exciting directors around. I guess most people would say that ‘Heat’ was and still is his best directing effort but this movie was definitely not far behind. Indeed, it was one hell of a thriller and it was one of the very few examples that, if Tom Cruise goes outside his comfort zone, the guy can be actually pretty terrific. Indeed, his character here was so much more fascinating than his usual boring heroes. Furthermore, ” read more

"12.05. PC/TV, 1st viewing DIRECTED BY Michael Mann A very cool, nocturnal and atmospheric thriller occasionally made eye-roll-worthy by out-of-place music choices and sudden surges of badassery as displayed by the cab-driving character of Jamie Foxx. The digital camera is used to a great effect here, it lends the film a "surveillance camera footage" kind of vibe. I also love how the film feels like a GTA game at times. By the way, I'm not sure why Tom Cruise is such a maligned actor, I think h"
