One of the best film noir tales ever made. The cast and Fritz Lang's direction are top notch. Barbara Stanwyck is super sexy and super sultry as the femme fatale. Loved every minute of this one.

Barbara Stanwyck has a field day as world-weary Mae Doyle, who's forced to return to her small fishing village when her big-city dreams fade to black. She soon attracts the attention of two men: affable dullard Jerry D'Amato (Paul Douglas) and his slick, ambitious buddy, Earl Pfeiffer (Robert Ryan). Mae weds Jerry and tries to be the happy homemaker but finds herself gravitating toward Earl in this slice-of-life melodrama directed by Fritz Lang.
