chilling film

The plot was awesome, the suspense was intense, the acting was flawless, but what sets this film apart from others is that this movie has, without a doubt, the BEST cinematography i've ever seen. If it doesnt win at least the Oscar for cinematography this year, they'd be robbed.

Nearly all the edge-of-seat suspensful scenes (and this movie has a lot of them) are shot in one conti... read more

Alfonso Cuaron shows us in this film that he is the master of long takes, and few cuts. Brilliantly cinematographed and directed, with a most excellent cast, this is a wonderful film. The bonus feature is something I rarely watch, but everyone will be curious to watch the production of one particular scene involving Kee's character, played by new actress Claire-Hope Ashitey. This is definitely THE... read more

This film seemed to be released with very little fanfare across the UK and I was apprehensive about seeing it at first. I thought it would be just another film about totalitarian carnage, fresh off the back of V for Vendetta. However, this film isn't generic at all. It's utterly chilling and particularly close to home when you live so close to some of the locations in the film.

Things Hollywood Can NEVER Get Right (6 movies items)

"The Thing? Childbirth My mother is a midwife, so I'm a bit clued in about this one. Whenever I watch a movie with mum that involves a baby being born, she scoffs at it. No matter what Hollywood does, they can't quite get it right. First of all, the exaggerated screaming and so on is preposterous. Secondly, movies can't quite nail the look of what a newborn baby is meant to look like. Thirdly, mothers poo themselves when they give birth. Yeah. I don't remember seeing Ellen Page doing a poopy on"

My Top 20 Films of All Time (20 movies items)

"My favorite sci-fi film of all time. This was a film that started my love of film and appreciate the art of movies. Beautifully shot by Alfonso Cuaron, it has some of the most emotional scenes in a film ever. It also is a very thrilling film that will have you on the edge of your seat. Although the single long shot take is a classic I chose the beginning scene to show since it sets the tone for the film. "

Highly Realistic & Highly Entertaining.

“Children of men is a movie that would surprise anyone who appreciate perfection when seeing it, i don't know why nobody recommend it to me, after Gravity blown up, i decided to follow Alfonso Cuarón previous work and i end up here, and i'm glad i did, it was brilliant movie from start to finish.

Set in the far future, it's a tale of a chaotic world where human no longer have the ability to procreate, and the youngest man ever to live is 18 years old, and it's gotta be the most realistic expectation of the future ever to put on a film, because you know what, fuck technology that most movies focus about, the earth is dying and people are changing to the worse everyday, and this movie baldly shows a possibility of what could actually happen, a world with repels and conflicts, a wor” read more
