Beautiful and emotional tale

4 years, 1 month ago at Aug 5 5:24
I remember seeing this movie as a kid, and I loved it even then. I was a fan to the Casper cartoons, and to me, this was a great movie. As a kid, it was just entertaining. Looking at it again as I am older, I now love this movie more than just because it's about my favorite friendly ghost. This movie does a good job clenching the issue of death and either letting it go and hang onto it as a ghost ... read more

Relies too much on visual style rather than plot

'Casper' is a children's movie based off the Casper the Friendly Ghost comic books and cartoons. This movie is not a bad adaptation but it puts too much work into visual style and not enough into plotting!

'Casper' features cutting edge visual effects and a great visual style. It features some decent acting from the lead roles (Christianna Ricci and Bill Pullman) but unfortunately i... read more

An average movie

To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this movie but since I didn’t like it much the first time around, I don’t think I will ever give it a 2nd chance at some point (I could give it a try with my daughter though). Still, I remember it very well, I actually saw the damned thing with my girlfriend at the time in the movie theater when it was released. Seriously, after all these yea... read more

Still, I remember it very well, I actually saw the damned thing with my girlfriend at the time in the movie theater when it was released. Seriously, after all these years, I still don’t understand why she made us watch this flick. I mean, she was a great girl and pretty smart but, sometimes, she had the bad habit to focus on some really childish movies like this one. Anyway, even though I have to admit that it was visually pretty neat (it was in fact the  first feature film with a computer-animated lead character), I was completely bored by the damned thing. ” read more

30 From 95: My Favorite Films From 1995 (30 movies items)

"The supernatural world collides with the natural world when live action meets animation in this tale about a kid who can see dead people. But in a cute, heartwarming way, considering that this is a film for all ages and is centered on the friendliest ghost you know. "
