I always had a weak spot for those virus thrillers. Most of the time, I enjoyed those flicks more than their popular cousins, the zombie movies, because they are usually more realistic. Against my expectations, I thought that this movie was pretty good. Honestly, it is a ratherd standard flick and it doesn't add much to the formula but I thought it was rather well made and, above all, I appreciate... read more

I always like these Virus-related movies! and that's the reason I nominated this movie for the list - that and the fact that it is starred by Chris Pine. This movie has an amazing idea that could've been done in a much better way. The thing about this movie is that it didn't explain anything about the Virus, it is just about the 2 brothers and 2 women who are trying to avoid that virus and get to a beach that they grew up visiting it every summer which is a place that as they thi"

Mining ground similar to The Road, Carriers captures the sobering desperation of humankind in the midst of a highly contagious global pandemic. Dark, emotional and deliberately paced, it's as much drama as it is horror, avoiding played-out Hollywood theatrics, over-the-top gore and any semblance of a happy ending -- thus, it was too hard of a sell for a wide release. Indeed, everytime I thought the whole thing would get soft on me, everytime, the plot would surprise me with its hard logic. I think many viewers didn't like the movie because none of the 4 of the lead characters were really likeable, especially the one portrayed by Chris Pine who was pretty arrogant on the surface butu I thought it was a good performance.
