Description

The US economy is in a rut, and so is the president's approval rating. What we need is a good war, but the Russians aren't interested. Hey -- how about that big polite country to the north? Niagara Fall Sheriff Bud B. Boomer takes this all a bit too seriously, though.

Michael Moore's foray into fiction

I remember seeing this movie when I was a teenager, pre George W. Bush and September 11. Back when Micheal Moore was some guy who made a documentary about how pissed off he was with what was happening to his home town and his quest to speak to the president of the company that he felt abandoned them. In that context, I remember thinking that Canadian Bacon was a decent comedy. Made me chuckle at least, and I enjoyed it's absurd humor at times. Now however, post Sept 11, post shock and awe, in the midst of terrorist fever, I watched this movie in a different light. If you watch this movie, you can see indicators of all of Moore's current themes in his documentaries.
