Jimmy Stewart seeks to prove the innocence of a convinct by gathering evidence 11 years after the conviction. The story is based on actual events and the studio wasted no time flagging that one out. The narration is really annoying here while the pace is slow and only made interesting by watching police and newspaper procedures of yore. Lee J. Cobb co-stars and its quite refreshing not to see him ... read more

The narration is really annoying here while the pace is slow and only made interesting by watching police and newspaper procedures of yore. Lee J. Cobb co-stars and its quite refreshing not to see him in a bad guy role, though, not as entertaining. Call Northside is a middleweight crime drama.
