Call Northside 777

Of the small number of Henry Hathaway films that I’ve seen, I haven’t cared much for any of his westerns, but I’m quite fond of his work in noir and thrillers. Niagara’s Technicolor vistas and Marilyn Monroe’s fantastic performance make that an enjoyable ride, while 14 Hours makes solid use of its ripped from the headlines story and ensemble of character actors. Movie Reviews (1501-1550) (50 movies items)

" The Ups: It handles fascinating true story and one of the more famous "wrong man" stories. It show how crucial it is to seek after the truth even when hitting obstacles and seemingly being stuck with clues. James Stewart is fantastic in the title role (as if that is something new). Believable story. The Downs: Dated since it uses long time to tell us how a lie detector works. Boring narrator in the beginning and end of the movie. Entire story is not told as there were new details about this"
