The film begins showing the Bronson in a tiny cell to go back and forth like a lion in the cage. Do push ups naked and dirty in the blood and does not stop moving for a moment. They seem to expect something. Indeed. Five or six police officers make their appearance and open the cell. The 'Charlie' is ready and rushes furiously down upon them. The officers are thrown together in the battle to restr... read more
Director Nicolas Winding Refn tells the true story of Charles Bronson (formerly Michael Peterson)—Britain’s most violent prisoner—and does the impossible: with great ease, we are able to relate to Bronson not as the monster he is put forth as, but as the man behind it. Bronson wants to make a name for himself. This is not an uncommon dream among humans, however, his methods for achieving thi... read more

Born Michael Peterson but later renamed by his fight promoter, Charles Bronson's sole ambition in life was to become famous. Surmising that the fastest means of accomplishing his goal with such limited opportunities was to cultivate a stylized persona as a hardened criminal, the ambitious do-badder embraced a desperate existence of extreme savagery. But who is the real man behind the warped persona? Seeing as how twenty-eight of Bronson's thirty-four years behind bars were spent in solitary confinement, that's a difficult question to answer. The terror of the legend comes to vivid life, however, as director Refn explores the twisted alternate reality created by Bronson, and highlights precisely how the controversial criminal staged himself within that anarchistic world.... "It's almost impossible to watch Nicolas Winding Refn's Bronson without feeling it garnered some inspiration from Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. Indeed, it's clear to see from here that he certainly has a unique aesthetic vision; one that is gritty and ultra-violent, yet also sleek and stylized. However, the film itself is very inconsistent. Although Tom Hardy shows off a marvelous performance as the treacherous lead character, I found no convenient point of connect with him. His story itself was "

"How would you feel, waking up in the morning without a window? My window is a steel grid, I 'ave to put my lips against that steel grid and suck in air, that's my morning... 'cause I got no air in my cell. I have to eat, sleep and crap in that room twenty-three hours of a twenty-four hour day. You tell me, what human being deserves that? Elokuvassa on mahtavaa musta huumorisia "unikohtauk"

"You don't want to be trapped inside with me sunshine. Inside, I'm somebody nobody wants to fuck with do you understand? I am Charlie Bronson, I am Britain's most violent prisoner."
This was an alright movie that was saved by Tom Hardy's brilliant performance. This was one of those performances that was so good i only saw the character and didn't think about the actor playing him. He definitely deserves some more recognition for it.
