Brokeback Mountain review

(A review of Brokeback Mountain)There are loads of reasons why I love Brokeback Mountain so much. It is a film about two men who fall in love and form a lifelong connection. This film truly reveals how powerful and how effective love is. Like the power of love so to speak. I don't understand why some people won't watch Brokeback Mountain because, yes, it is gay but not THAT gay. There was one sex scene, a few hugs and kisses and that was about it. If people will discriminate this film for being gay, then they just need to grow up and not judge a book by its cover. Neither Ennis Del Mar nor Jack Twist were homosexual. They were both attracted to women because they both got married and had children. But it was Jack who led Ennis on. I am not homosexual nor homophobic and this is one of my all-time favourite films. They weren't completely homosexual for another reason: Jack and Ennis were only attracted to each other not other men. You don't have to be gay to like this film. Also, it teaches that some gay men and women used to be scared of being gay in 1960s because of possibly being attacked especially after WWII.
Heath Ledger's performance was absolutely outstanding as Ennis Del Mar. Heath pulls of a fantastic American western accent for a guy who was from Australia. Two of his films are close favourite where he portrays opposite types of character. Ennis: emotional, confused, torn. Joker: psychotic, murderer, mysterious. I have always admired Heath Ledger as a person as well as an actor. It wasn't a praising-respects-because-he-died sort of thing but because he had a rare talent. Heath portrayed Ennis in a way like a redneck sort of character. When I saw Heath with Michelle WIlliams on-screen, it was emotional for me because they were engaged and had a daughter together. I saw this film 3 months before Heath Ledger died I loved his performance alot which proves that I didn't admire Heath because he died. His performance is one of the best that I've seen but I liked him a lot more as the Joker in The Dark Knight. Jake Gyllenhaal's performance as Jack Twist was bloody amazing. His performance was so good it made him look like a real homosexual. His acting was very professional and I could easily recognize Jake was understanding Jack's personality. He seemed more relaxed and confident that Heath did playing those characters. I could tell that Heath and Jake were close friends from Brokeback Mountain until Heath Ledger deied because Jake is godfather to Heath and Michelle's daughter. Michelle Williams' performance was very powerful as Alma Del Mar which creates Michelle's relationsip with Heath Ledger because they were on-screen husband and wife. Her performance was very typical American. She shined up a character who has known a secret for so long without saying anything. I really liked the gorgeous Anne Hathaway in this film aswell.
Ang Lee goes from an action-packed director to a superhero MARVEL director to a romantic drama director and in a huge and great way. He seemed rather strict of how he wants the cast to act because he had never done a film like this before. I think that's why he deserved his Oscar win. The script was clear and written to prove for and against homosexuality. It is a very rare film that earned Oscar wins and other various things especially it being about men falling in love.
I wouldn't call Brokeback Mountain a western. If it was I would have said it's the greatest western ever made but it is the greatest romantic film of all time and one of the most powerful films of all time too. I hate it when people call me "gay" because I love a film about gay men but that isn't the point the film tries to get across. Definately Ang Lee's best work to date, Heah Ledger's second best after The The Dark Knight, Jake Gyllenhaal's best performance. Brokeback Mountain was the favourite but it was robbed. My favourite film of 2005 and is certainly one of my all time favourites ever!

(A review of Brokeback Mountain)Então.

(A review of Brokeback Mountain)A masterpiece film that can be appreciated again and again - a love between 2 souls, suppressed by the society's discrimination. This is one film that deals with emotions, conflicts, feelings and more wonderfully.

Too Much Hype

(A review of Brokeback Mountain)I think if I wasn't so bored with this movie so soon it would've irritated the hell out of me. Don't get me wrong I think it was a great concept for a movie & I don't care about gay guys getting it on, I've seen it, its normal, but it was drawn out too long & those boys mumbling drove me to the brink of insanity. Plus the "Why can't I quit you line?" made me want to laugh. Its one of the worst lines I have heard in a movie so far. Great acting though besides that mumbling
