A good movie

I have always been interested in Jane Campion’s work so I was really eager to check her last movie. Well, to be honest, even though I enjoyed this flick, I can’t say it was really amazing though. Indeed, the plot was pretty much standard for a costume drama (a young man and woman are passionately in love but he doesn’t have any money to marry her and, on top of that, he gets pretty sick…).... read more

Written and directed by Academy Award winner Jane Campion, Bright Star is a riveting drama based on the three-year romance between 19th century poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne, which was cut short by Keats’ untimely death at age 25. Ben Whishaw (The International, I’m Not There) and Abbie Cornish (Stop-Loss, Elizabeth: The Golden Age) star as Keats and Brawne, respectively. The film is co-produced by Campion, Jan Chapman, and Caroline Hewitt.
