Music was great but...

What can you say about a movie that promises so much and delivers so little. I don't mean over hype in this case, but the sequal that comes 20 years after the original all time cult smash, that albeit could not have brilliant John Belushi did have the equally
brilliant John Goodman partnering Dan akroyd. What we sadly got was an ill-planned ill-conceived, badly directed and written mess... read more

Hi i'm Nathan aka monstermaster13 and I remember it so you don't have to. Today's review is of a shameful attempt at making a sequel to one of the best 80's movies ever.

Remember Jake and Elwood Blues and their mission from god? Of course you do. Who doesn't love those Blues Brothers and their musical mayhem induced misadventures? John Belushi and Dan Akyroyd made one hell o... read more

Elwood, the now lone "Blues Brother" finally released from prison, is once again enlisted by Sister Mary Stigmata in her latest crusade to raise funds for a children's hospital. Once again hitting the road to re-unite the band and win the big prize at the New Orleans Battle of the Bands, Elwood is pursued cross-country by the cops, led by Cabel (Morton) the Curtis' son (and Elwood's step-brother), the Russian Mafia, and a militia group. On his new "mission from God" Elwood enlists the help of a young orphan (Bonifant), and a stip-club bartender (Goodman).

Top 10 Worst Movies (11 movies items)

"Just why did this movie get made anyway? The original Blues Brothers was fine as is, it didn't need a sequel AT ALL. What happened to Jake and Elwood after the events of the first movie is up to interpretation if you ask me. But in this so called 'sequel' it is flat out said that Jake and Curtis BOTH died - with little to no explanation. My theory is that Jake died of a drug overdose like his actor John Belushi and Curtis died of old age, although my friend Nikon-Ninja helped make those"

Remember Jake and Elwood Blues and their mission from god? Of course you do. Who doesn't love those Blues Brothers and their musical mayhem induced misadventures? John Belushi and Dan Akyroyd made one hell of a comedic duo and the original was one of John Landis's best works next to An American Werewolf In London, Animal House, Oscar and The Three Amigos.

This movie is nothing more than an attempt to try and follow up to the original - and it fails.

John Landis returns to direct even though some say that his directing career sort of went downhill in the late 80's (specifically ” read more

The music however was as you would expect awesome and the flick's only real saving grace. If you really are still intrigued, by the soundtrack and miss this.” read more
