A cop killing crim is giving the police the run around in old London town. Blitz is a good movie that finally comes to life about 20 to 30 minutes in when we finally get to the main story. Once the chase is on with the odd couple partnership of tough rule breaking Tom Brant (Jason Statham) and gay straight laced Porter Nash (Paddy Considine) pursuing the cop killing criminal who's hungry for notor... read more
Funky title sequence, OK. Opening scene with Statham asleep on a couch – OK, so its one of those Jason Statham films, fine I can go with that; Hollywood action film with a perfectly watchable lead, nothing too challenging, just what I need to unwind after a hard day at the office.

“I wasn't expecting much from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Jason Statham, I thought I should give it a try. To be honest, I'm rather torn apart with this guy. Indeed, on one hand, he never gets involved in such lame comedies like any other major action star (Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone,...) which is really great but, on the other hand, all his movies look the same and he always ends up playing the same guy which is getting rather tiresome at this point. This movie was not different, I'm afraid. I mean, it was decent but after 5 minutes, I already knew where it was getting at and I was rather bored. Actually, I was more pleasantly surprised by Paddy Considine. I keep bumping into this actor rather frequently recently, he is always inte” read more

"Brant (Jason Staitham) & Weiss (Aidan Gillen)
Brant is an uninteresting, Borderline sadistic macho man with control issues. Weiss is a psychotic twat who likes the kill cops and set police dogs on fire and put it on youtube. By the way, Staitham is merely kicking Gillen's ass in this picture, but that's not what it looks like (wink).

"1.10, DVD
Harmillisesti tyypillinen rikosleffa, jonka jaksoi katsoa loppuun pelkästään Jason Stathamin ansiosta. Tykkään Stathamista, mutta saman roolin esittäminen uudelleen ja uudelleen rupeaa jo pikkuhiljaa maistumaan puulta."

Jason Statham esittää taas kerran Jason Stathamia.

It's not brilliant by any means, nor is it particularly good. It's just entertaining for what it is. Which is Jason Statham having a good time. He is deliciously dry-witty, he kicks ass and is for the most part just awesome in this role. Besides that there are some cool camera work here and Aidan Gillen is fun.
It is however a film that's in dire need of a much better script and less characters. They could have easily skipped the police junky, the journalist and that weird guy with weird c"

It was at this point that the old memory cells started working and I remembered that I had read something about the film. Oh no, isn't this a British film, set in London? Yes it is. Oh dear. I don't want gritty, low budget, realism, I don't want east end gangsters, mockney accents and all too earnest attempts to be cool.
I was pleasantly surprised to find my fears unfounded. This is really quite a good film.
