I LOVE Samuel L. and I LOVE Christina Ricci so I had to see it. I'm into weird movies as it was but even this was kinda like, wtf. I feel like Riccis little nympho issue was a bit wacked but ah well. It was a good movie overall I'd say.

I wasn't immediately sure what to make of this film. On the one hand I appreciated the fundamentally sincere performances from both Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci, but on the other hand I figured the story was ultimately pointless, it never left me feeling fulfilled. Christina Ricci plays a woman who is addicted to sex and this eventually leads to her being beaten and essentially left for dead at the side of the road. Luckily for her, kind Samaritan Sam L. is on hand to take her in and help her recover, but being a man of staunch morals and religious dignity, he sees her nymphomatic ways and seeks to stamp them out of her. I'd been looking forward to seeing BSM ever since it garnered early buzz at lasy years Sundance. Craig Brewer is proving to be a solidly consistently impressive director and storyteller. He's like Tarantino without the swag bag of stolen references. And man Samuel L. Jackson sho' damn got the blues. The soundtrack is great too.

I really enjoyed this movie. I have always been a fan of Christina Ricci and Samuel Jackson and they give strong performances in this movie. Christina barely wears any clothes throughout the movie and sometimes this takes away from her acting. Samuel Jackson does a great job as her guardian saint. He even sings a couple of tunes and really pulls it off. The soundtrack that follows the movie is full of great blues and is perfect for the movie. There is some strong language, sex, drug use, and nudity in the movie. If this offends you, I wouldn't go see this one. If you don't mind taking a walk on the wild side, you will probably enjoy the movie like I did. You don't see the cute little Christina in this movie that you saw in Casper or the Addams Family.
