Movie journal - January 2012 (21 movies items)"Date: 6. January *first time watch* I didn't have any high expectations for this one, but I was really surprised by how good it was. Everyone did a good job in it, especially Sean Bean, and the cinematography is great. The twist in this one isn't really original or genius, but it took me by surprise. Overall, a good film that's worth a watch. "
Best Horror Films of 2011 (10 movies items)" Not full blown horror by any means, but this Wicker Man-ish look at plague-torn 15th century Europe is a terrific grim adventure, thankfully hitting stores AFTER Nic Cage's similar (but silly) Season Of The Witch, as if to say "No, THIS is how you do it." Game Of Thrones fans will feel right at home as Sean Bean (who else?) leads the team of knights who seek to find a place where the plague seemingly has not penetrated. Religious-based persecution and many deaths ensue, and Black Death's pessi"
“Until the middle of the movie I thought the script had a lot of potential, nonetheless it turned into something very predictable and uninteresting.
Loved the way how this movie perversely showed the medieval christians ways against "evil" being used against themselves. The photography was very beautiful as well and the way the camera moves during combat is very smart, nonetheless, I'm not sure if it is always like that but it really called my attention.

This was not God's work, but devilry. Or witchcraft. But our task, to hunt down a demon, was God's cure."
Let's get this out of the way first: Black Death is by no means an enjoyable movie due to its bleak and unflinching depiction of the 14th Century. Be that as it may, it is a riveting, dramatic horror picture that's as brilliant as it is challenging. Coming from director Christopher Smith (Severance, Triangle), Black Death ” read more

Movies of 2011 (619 movies items)"Home - New Very rough and ready, but surprisingly effective. It's a men on a mission film which quickly dovetails into something more akin to a 1970s British horror. Some really gruesome gore effects and some convincing villains make the second half work wonders. "
A Year of Horror - 2010 - Update V.2 (64 movies items)"For the record this is *not* a horror film. Instead this is a dark middle ages mystery film."
