An average movie

Following the masssive critical and commercial success of ‘Life of Pi’, many, including myself, were expecting a lot from Ang Lee’s next directing effort. This time, he was going for something even more experimental, a movie shot with 120 frame rate, the highest frame rate ever used in a movie (to give an idea, the previous record holder was ‘The Hobbit’ with 48 fps and a standard film h... read more

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- March 2017 (32 movies items)

" DVD- 1hr. 53min. First Viewing It's a bit bland at times, and the material it's going over is pretty tired at this point, but Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk is a suitable tribute to the troops, as well as solid tale about responsibility. The high resolution wasn't much of an issue, especially since I saw it on DVD, but there is, at times, a bit of a disappointing flatness to the frame, and the story isn't a lot to write home about, but Lee's handling of it, and his maneuvering of a superb cast"

A Complete Review of Ang Lee's work (15 movies items)

" Cast : Garrett Hedlund, Vin Diesel, Steve Martin, Chris Tucker, Kristen Stewart What was it about? 19-year-old Billy Lynn is brought home for a victory tour after a harrowing Iraq battle. Through flashbacks the film shows what really happened to his squad - contrasting the realities of war with America's perceptions. My two cents: Following the masssive critical and commercial success of ‘Life of Pi’, many, including myself, were expecting a lot from Ang Lee’s next directing effort. T"
