David Niven and Marlon Brando star in this fully swinging-sixties conman caper, full of vibrant colours, dodgy back-projection and phony European locations (although a lot of it was filmed in Cannes). The sort of film I'd love. And I really did. Not verosimile for a comedy that pretends to be sexy and full of wit. A gag is worth the screening: Niven beats and plays with Brando´s foot becuase he pretends to be handicaped in a wheelchair.

"Young vs old. Classy vs vulgar. Brando & Niven display great comedy with a great ending. Although shirley Jones seems to be only a trophy who gets passed on she comes on top. Would someone show movies like this to Sandler & co.?"

" Marlon Brando. With David Niven. In a comedy. How could I have resisted? Why would I have even TRIED to resist? If it's Brando, I'm there, where? everywhere he is (or should I say was). So actually, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a remake of this movie. Innit strange how the remake gets all the credit and the source gets jack-shit? I mean here's another case of a fabtastic old movie that has been swallowed up by the sands of time and spat out into a pit of infinite nothingness. And it's really "

We're first introduced to our unlikely heroes at the French Riviera and in Germany, as both men stalk rich, single women and attempt to con them out of their wealth - Brando's technique is making them think that the money is going his ill grandmother, who changes nationality in accordance with each girl. It takes a while to get going, but once the pair of loveable rogues team up, the film turns into a rollicking ride as both men try to outwit each other and claim the lovely Shirley Jones. Great fun, the only alarming thing is the amount of weight ” read more
