" The final moments of "Beat the Devil" involve several characters receiving and reading a letter. The reactions of each to the letter steadily escalate in hilariousness, until finally Bogart reads it and starts laughing his ass off. When the camera cuts back to show the letter's content, I'm laughing my ass off right along with Bogie. The words he then says between laughs make the scene even funnier and the ending even more lovable. "

Desconozco si será por el efecto del whisky en sus ya bastante desmadradas personalidades, pero la verdad es que la narración se resiente en cuanto a saltos en su guión (¿existió? se dice que el mismo se escribió sobre la marcha), más no así en sus aciertos en cuanto a lo divertido de situaciones y personajes.
