Batman: Under the Red Hood

I must say, this is right up there with Wonder Woman and both of the Justice League direct-to-DVD films, it could possibly even surpass them. Much like those films, Batman: Under the Red Hood has a script that is equally dramatically engaging and entertaining as an action-adventure film, excellent voice acting and richly detailed animation.

"Batman: Under the Red Hood" (2010)

“FIRST IMPRESSIONS

This is the best kind of Batman story: pitting him against a similar but homicidal opponent. It's all summed up in the line where Batman explains that there isn't a day that goes by where he doesn't want to kill the Joker, but he won't because he knows that once he crosses that line, he can never go back. Also, I don't often feel the need to comment on the animation in these movies, but it's absolutely top-notch here – some of the best I've ever seen in Batman's animated line-up. On top of that, it's a brilliantly written story that I've have to run through in its entirety to properly justify its impact – but obviously I won't do that. :) Overall, this is probably my second-favourite of the animated Batman movies, behind only Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.read more

“"I don't know what's worse, your grief or your antiquated sense of morality."

Superhero movies are not often perceived as sophisticated or thematically dense, particularly not low-budget productions which are usually seen as disposable entertainment. Batman: Under the Red Hood is a rare type of superhero outing, however, with an immense sense of style that's matched by a smart screenplay which offers more than just colourful action sequences. The eighth in the DCU Animated Original Movies line by Warner Premiere, Under the Red Hood is an adaptation of two comic book story arcs, denoting the first time that these storylines have been told on the screen in any form. Guided with a sure hand by director Brandon Vietti, the real strength of this production is the way it caters to all ” read more

"May 4 I watched this in drama and this was surprisingly good. It was dark and had great animation. It may not be anything groundbreaking, but it is still good and worth watching."

"Released on: 27 July 2010 If only this film had Kevin Conroy as Batman and the anomation was more like the 90s TV Show... It is a good film, but it feels misplaced somehow. If it was done isinde the story-arch of the Bruce Timm show, it would be better."

“I had an odd reaction to this. The design and style of the thing was so close to the animated series, but the change in voice cast just sort of pulled me out. It was like someone pantomining the Animated Series corpse. In particular I could hear, exactly, how Hamill's Joker would have read the Joker's dialogue in this and it just distracted me from DiMaggio's performance. I get that he was trying another take on the character but it just really seemed to lack oomph, definitely my least favourite Joker interpretation.

Greenwood was bizarre as Batman, just a full on Kevin Conroy pastiche. I actually thought Jensen Ackles was the bright spot, voice acting wise, probably because I didn't have any preconceived notions of the character. I also liked Jason Isaacs as Ra's Al Ghul, largel” read more

"Directed by: Brandon Vietti! Main cast: Bruce Greenwood, Jensen Ackles, John DiMaggio & Neil Patrick Harris! Stars out of 10: 6.9 Stars! Looks like that hurt a lot more... Frankly speaking, I'd expected a lot more from this film and it did deliver, but with less force! Anyways, my feelings for this film is the same i had for Bride Of Frankenstein! Both the films were not better than their predecessors despite the fact that these 2 films are always ranked ahead and are considered superior t"
