Every young boy going up has a fantasy of becoming astronauts, firefighters, police officers, Olympic athletes, etc.
I personally wanted to be an astronaut but fireman was a close second and when I first saw Backdraft I was completely enamored. And even after growing up and picking a better and more interesting career path I still find Backdraft an excellent movie and brings back great memo... read more

"Visually, pic often is exhilarating, but it's shapeless and dragged down by corny, melodramatic characters and situations.

Out of all the movies based around firefighters, this one is my favorite. Russell shares the screen here with William Baldwin as brothers and their relationship is the underscore for the whole film. This one has everything one could want in a film - drama, action, suspense..."

Sentimentaalista Ron Howard - sontaa, jota ei pelasta edes Kurt Russell tai silloin tällöin elokuvassa piipahteleva De Niro. Elokuva ei edes yritä saada tarinaansa mitään potkua, vaan kaikesta mennään siitä mistä on helpointa. Parissa kohtaa elokuva alkoi nolostututtamaan sentimaalisuudellansa. Donald Sutherlandin rooli on -takuuvarmasti- matkittu saman vuoden Uhrilampaista."

"~ A decade since I last saw it and I enjoyed it more this time around. A solid thriller with some great performances from Kurt Russell, Robert De Niro, Rebecca deMornay as well as Scott Glenn."
