Back to the Future (1985)

'Ey, it's that's one dude from Family Ties teaming up with that one other dude from Taxi & that one chick from Howard The Duck.
Michael J. Fox, Leah Thompson, Christopher Loyd, along with Crispin Glover, form a cadre of actors whom, at the time of that BTTF occupied theatres, were not considered top marquee celebtitries, a situation that changed after release, particularly for Fox.
Directed by Robert Zemekis, Back To The Future is a time-traveling tale which inarguably solidified the fact that it's never a good idea to take your mother to the school dance. Even if it's before she becomes your mother.

Totally feel good. Marty Mcfly is the coolest kid around and we all know it, we can all relate to him because we all want to be more like him. He's quick with the quips he pulls the girls (and his mum) and he can ride a mean skateboard. In this wacky adventure through time you come to love the characters introduced and start rooting for Marty and his Dad, George, as he trys to hook him up with his mum in the 1950's to avoid himself dissapearing. The alternate timelines are a laugh and it's funny to see how all the characters drastically change so quickly (espically the school bully Biff Tannen). The film is suprisingly well written for what it is on surface level and nobody says nothing that isn't coming right back in our face later or isn't in direct realtion the story or events. Marty McFly and The Doc are two of the worlds greatest characters...I'm talking film, TV and books here. Marty McFly was the archetypal teen, being kept down by the man, and that crusty old Dean! The whole film is feel good to the core. I cannot think of anyone cooler than Marty McFly, travelling everywhere on his skateboard, not qualifying for the talent competition because he was too loud! Coupled with the ultimate mad scientist, Emmit Brown...the duo cannot be competed with. This film is the first of one of cinemas greatest trilogies/films...the Doc invents a time machine and Marty travels back to 1955, where some mad cap adventures ensue; although I doubt a Dolorian has ever made it up to 60 let alone 88mph. I love this film. It is excellent, in every way. I love seeing the time travel car, go back in time. This is one my all-time favorite films. I don't think, there is a better classic film, than this.

Ah, the classic 80's time travel movie, definitely my favorite of the time travel genre. While watching this movie you can't help but wonder what it would be like to go back and meet your parents, would you like them, hang out, think they're losers?

Kind of frightening really....

Fun adventure, and I'll admit, I always get nervous at the end. Some great soundtrack songs too from Huey Lewis (who plays the judge of the bands at the beginning...)
