But before that, he picks up a young boy literally from the streets and teach him his "art". Personally, I think it is a terrific movie and one of the best movie I have ever seen. "For over 40 years, Mr. Wagner has been a successful assassin, but now he is 70; his hands tremble and his eyesight and reflexes are rapidly failing. Mr. Wagner is ready to retire, but first he must find a successor. Awards: Stockholm Film Festival: Honorable Mention (Mehdi Benoufa) "

He finally chooses Max, young and passionless thief to be his successor. Note: This is the 3rd movie directed by Mathieu Kassovitz (La Haine, Gothika) and I think it is actually his best one. It is thus my favorite French movie right now but I have to say I only saw it once when it came out (some"

To be honest, I saw it only once , 16 years ago, in the theater when it was released and a re-watch might change my mind but, when I saw it, I thought it was quite mind-blowing. 2 years before, Mathieu Kassovitz made ‘La Haine’, arguably the most influential French movie made in the 90’s and, back in those days, it was huge cultural phenomenon.
