This is the 3rd movie directed by Mathieu Kassovitz (La Haine, Gothika) and I think it is actually his best one. It is about an old hitman (Michel Serrault) who's getting old and wants to retire. But before that, he picks up a young boy literally from the streets and teach him his "art". Personally, I think it is a terrific movie and one of the best movie I have ever seen. To be honest, I saw it only once , 16 years ago, in the theater when it was released and a re-watch might change my mind but, when I saw it, I thought it was quite mind-blowing. 2 years before, Mathieu Kassovitz made ‘La Haine’, arguably the most influential French movie made in the 90’s and, back in those days, it was huge cultural phenomenon.
