Brilliant film on poverty. This film talks about Indian culture's religion, marriage, and a man's struggle with family.

Living alone in a tenement above the railway, a grown Apu passes his days reading poetry, playing his wooden flute and looking for work. Although poor and without family, he remains hopeful about his future. After reuniting with a childhood friend, Apu marries the man's cousin. But marital bliss is short-lived, as a terrible tragedy awaits the newfound lovers. This is the third and final film in the renowned Apu trilogy from director Satyajit Ray.

Movie Reviews (1401-1450) (50 movies items)

" The Ups: The third installment is the most romantic, erotic and optimistic of the "Apu"-trilogy and it feels necessarily so too. The entire absurd marriage that end up to be some of the more romantic and moving couples on screen is a cinematic achievement to pull through. The Downs: The confrontation between Apu and his friend probably need more exposition and soul-scratching for modern cinema goers as it is a extremely subtle scene."
