Best action film from last year

I believe this was the best action film of 2006, and it deserved a lot more attention than it got.

It has more bloody deaths than the overrated Oscar-winner, 'The Departed'. It has more frantic fast-paced action then that horrendous crapfest that was 'Crank'. The cinematography was on par with the Oscar-winner 'Pan's Labyrinth. The costume design should've won an Oscar rather than... read more

Mel Gibson.... Action!

I must agree with Midnight's review, as well as Prelude76's.

This film is excellent, despite all those violent scenes. I've stomached quite a few violent films, but this one particularly affected me more. I can handle violence but gross, no. (Apocalypto is *not* gross.)

It IS unfortunate that the movie is subtitled, but then again, so was Mel Gibson's the Passion of t... read more

I was a bit surprised with this film. Not in the sense that I thought it would be horrible and found out it was stunning instead. No. I was surprised because I thought it would be far more violent. I'd heard from several places/people that it was a very violent film. I didn't find it that violent. In saying that, if you aren't used to violence I wouldn't recommend watching it while eating, it's ju... read more

“Apocalypto is a brilliant movie, the story the acting which is more about the action than words, and scenery breathtaking. Rudy Youngblood who plays Jaguar Paw the character at the center of the story, did a brilliant job. I really loved the story, which is about the so called fall of the mayans through the eyes and story of Jaguar. Jaguar's tribe is killed and most of the people taken as slaves, and are taken to a massive mayan empire. Jaguar has left his pregnant wife and child behind in a well, and all he wants his to save them. Who cares if this is not historicaly right, who cares that Mel Gibson directed it. This movie is very good, and one worth watching it is a really beautiful brutal story.” read more

"18th of May, Digiboksi Visuaalisesti upea, mutta juoneltaan köyhä historiallinen leffa.

"March 12 "The omen was foretold, and now we have a fear more grave. Today I saw the day become like night. I saw a man run with the jaguar. We must not let this man make feet from us." I was expecting this movie to be good, but I never knew that a movie directed by Mel Gibson would be fucking amazing. There were some times where I forgot that it was directed by him. It was a great movie on how the Mayans lived back then. It was emotional, disturbing, suspenseful and everything that this movi"
