Angel-A review

At this stage of his career, I didn't know if Luc Besson was losing it or not, he's pretty unpredictable at times, but I took the risk and snapped up this film anyway. I think it was the DVD case artwork that drew me in, it's pretty special and intriguing.

I wasn't disappointed, this is a really good film. What sold it for me is how amazing an actor Jamel Debbouze is. He is charismatic and extremely emotive. The film follows his character, a down and out loser who owes money all over town as he struggles to make it by and eventually contemplates suicide. As he is about to throw himself into the Seine he is beaten to it by a mysterious lady. After saving her life she becomes his devoted aide. There are extremely funny moments and lots of beautiful locations. I would recommend this to people who don't mind a fantastical storyline.
