1 vote After those Saul Bass anthology credits, the false peace of justice being made in the province, ambiguity, doubts, open ending,but more love of truth than hipocresy. Dueke Ellington as bonus track, cant ask for more

1 vote I'm not one for older movie but I caught this one late last night, and noticed a resemblance to A Time To Kill(One of my favorite movies). That and I like Jimmy Stewart I felt I had to watch it. This is one of Jimmy Stewart's best performances. 1 vote What an entertaining movie! I thought it was just great. A simple story but still completely spellbinding. It is the proof that you can make a movie without any explosions, shootings, CGI or whatsover and still remain compulsively watchable. Definitely worth a look.

Laura Manion returns home to tell her husband she's been raped. Lt. Manion kills the rapist and then claims crime of passion as a defense. At least that's his story. Paul Biegler agrees to defend him and must unravel a case in which the motivations of the murderer, his wife, and the victim are all in question.
