I love hardcore music with metal, so I watched this to see the grass roots of the hardcore movement. Most have misconception of punk/hardcore and many need to watch this documentary. It's very interesting and a good watch. You get to see the birth of the Straight Edge movement also. It's sad to see how kids(now adults) could have so much HATE, but at least they put into something productive rather... read more

Inspired by Steven Blush's book "American Hardcore: A tribal history" Paul Rachman's feature documentary debut is a chronicle of the underground hardcore punk years from 1979 to 1986. Interviews and rare live footage from artists such as Black Flag, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, SS Decontrol and the Dead Kennedys.

My only dislike is the constant swearing..but they're punks, what do you expect hahaha.
